Manuel Palos offers classes in Stone Carving, Restoration and Architectural Sculpture. Classes are designed for individual instruction as Manuel guides your vision. Classes are for six weeks and other studio times can be arranged as needed.


DESCRIPTION OF CLASSES:

Stone Carving - Create a basic idea in sculpture to full scale or directly carve your ideas in your choice of marble, limestone or alabaster.  Learn how to use different tools of the trade, choose a piece of stone and finishing and polishing your piece.  Class emphasizes safe studio practices, hands- on demonstrations, carving techniques and pneumatic techniques.

Architectural Sculpture - Class will emphasize architectural design principles and how art has been used in the architectural industry.  Students will learn how to architectural drawings to produce full scale models and production molds.

Restoration - Learn how to restore original designs in marble, stone terracotta and plaster.  Molds and castings will be made to match textures, color and finishes.
